Some Republicans are expressing puzzlement over Harriet Miers 1993
speech favoring the right to choose to get an abortion, or not, depending on one's choice, presumably. Yet, as Ralph Emerson is said to have said, a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. Either that, or opportunism or just a certain shallowness or
