The Index of Economic Freedom By Mike RappaportThe Wall Street Journal has once again
published the Index of Economic Freedom. It seems that I mark the years with the Index. Once again, Hong Kong is at the top. Whatever else the Chinese have done, they don't seem to be tarnishing the crown jewel of economic freedom.
Some highlights: Ireland is number three! The US score has improved and it is almost where it was when President Bush took office, which was the best score the US ever produced. Israel has been consistently improving the economic freedom over the past ten years and is now freer than Taiwan.
