Good music
By Tom Smith

On a whim, I ordered Zero 7's Simple Things from Amazon. While I like jazz, I had never 'descended' to smooth jazz before. But what can I say. I really like this album. It has a 70s laid back sound that reminds me a little of George Benson, but even cooler. No one shows off, but the musicianship strikes me as highly professional. No stupid lyrics, just some low key, melancholic bluesy vocals, suggestive and that's all. Highly melodic. Hypnotic at times, so electronica and ambient are also labels that fit. I think ambient is legitimate. I'm too old to be a snob about music. For chill on the freeway music, hard to beat. So that as**ole won't let you merge. No biggie.
