For more than a year now, I have been practicing yoga. Until a couple of months ago, I was taught Iynegar Yoga, a style of yoga which focuses on precise postures (but which in my experience focuses less on breathing techniques than other types of yoga). Iyengar, an 87 year old master, has come to the United States from India and NPR has a story on him.
In the last couple of months, the University has hired new teachers and so I am trying various other styles of yoga. Whatever the style, it is amazing how much I benefit from the yoga in terms strength, stress reduction, flexibility, and body toning. If you don't do yoga, consider giving it a try.
